Our Story

Novela Cakes started baking for friends and family which became a full-time obsession. With support from her husband, they became the ultimate duo who are passionate about designing and baking cakes. We take pride in making sweet baked goods! We strive to decorate treats that create what we call a "Sinful Sweet Experience" with a touch of love & creativity.

How We Started

Eloisa's Edibles was established in 2015; and in 2020 the cake shop was renamed to NovelaCakes. You may ask why; because " Every cake has a story behind it. " They are all unique and different, which is the beauty behind each cake. Eloisa started baking for friends and family which became a full-time obsession. With support from family and her husband who is passionate about design and visualization, while Eloisa's expertise is chemistry in baking. They became the ultimate duo and continue to deliver quality baked goods to satisfied customers every day. In addition, Novela Cakes aims to produce high-quality ingredients to all of our customers while encompassing the upmost standard in customer service and value.

Meet the Pastry Chef

Welcome to my life, a life of cakes & confections galore; A never ending world of creativity, hard work and passion of baking and decorating.  Just some information about me, my name is Eloisa. I grew up in Philippines; province of Pangasinan.  I've been baking since 2015 for a delivery-only bake shop in the San Francisco bay area.   I was even lucky enough to be selected as one of the regular vendor pop up at Williams-Sonoma in Palo Alto and featured at Wedding Rule as top 10 of the best wedding cakes in the bay area in 2021.  


NovelaCakes becomes a fun-filled loved home bakery.  I've taken decorating classes from some of the nation's premier pastry chefs and learned so much about pastry.  Pastry is truly my passion and I'm always looking to learn more and better perfect my techniques.  Do all things with passion and love is my life motto.

Best Cupcakes

We decided early on that we did not want a cake for our wedding, but instead cupcakes. We were looking for reasonably priced cupcakes that were also great tasting. We found Eloisa through a wedding app (not sure which one) and we messaged back and forth for a while. Eventually we met her and she was a pleasure from the start. She brought cupcakes that we could taste and decided on our flavors and frosting. Her cupcakes were fluffy and the frosting was light and to die for. We met with her one more time to make sure everything was in order. She knew that we were going for a rustic look and she had so many great ideas to share, even DIY ones! She knew what our vision was and we trusted her. Her communication was great and and working with her felt to so easy. She sent me images of the set up on the day of and everything was wonderful! I would highly recommend Eloisa. Our guests loved the cupcakes, especially because they weren't overwhelmingly sweet.
